Welcome to the website of libio, the laboratoire d’ingenierie des biomolecules
The Laboratoire d'Ingénierie des Biomolécules (LIBio) celebrated 30 years of existence in 2015 and is a Host Team (EA 4367) of the University of Lorraine housed in the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Agronomie et des Industries Alimentaires (ENSAIA).
LIBio is a member of the “Forestry Ecosystems, Agroresources, Bioprocesses and Food” research federation (EFABA) and of the University of Lorraine “Agronomy – Agrofood – Forestry” (A2F) Scientific Cluster.
The affiliated doctoral school is Doctoral School 410 in the Sciences and Engineering of “Resources Procedures Products Environment” (RP2E).
LIBio dedicates its research to the design, functionalization and structuring of vectors and matrices derived from natural resources. Different protein, lipid and polysaccharide substrates are used to structure matrices and vectors adapted to molecules amenable to being vectorized, to model active compounds or to lactic bacteria. The original systems developed are stable, which allows them to be preserved and leveraged in the fields of nutrition, food, health and cosmetics.
The work conducted over 30 years has resulted in the understanding and control of interactions that are created within complex structures for the purpose of the structuring of vectors and matrices combining several molecular families. This has allowed the establishment of a platform of expertise centred on the development and characterization of nano and micrometric architectures.
