LIBio has had ISO 9001:2008 certification since December 8, 2009 and ISO 9001:2015 certification since April 7, 2016 under the designation "laboratory organization and management, design and conduct of research projects in the engineering of biomolecules derived from agroresources, hosting of students and PhD students and training through and in research". The laboratoire d’ingenierie des biomolecules presents its “quality policy declaration”

Renewal of the management’s commitment to quality

The Biomolecule Engineering Laboratory (LIBio) is entering into a new five-year contract 2024-2028. During the contract, LIBio will be forty years old and will see a renewal of its teaching-researcher staff following the retirement of four professors and an associate professor. For 2024, one of management's commitments will focus on thinking about this transition in terms of human resources. The promotion of personnel will be one of its components. In 2024, a new structural organization will be put in place at LIBio with the creation of its laboratory council.

LIBio's research activities have, since its creation, been oriented towards agri-food and food science. In this context, Bioeconomy has become the current theme on which LIBio relies in order to respond to the societal and economic challenges of the circular management of agro-resources, in particular through the “Bioeconomy, Biomolecules Science and Engineering” (B2SE) programs); the CPER Bioeco-Grand Est and its “food with biosourced ingredients, sustainable packaging” axis; and “The One Bioeconomy” federation. The co-construction of the contract 24-28 research project made it possible to define two research axes which will be further structured in 2024 with the identification of axis managers and another dynamic in terms of animation of each axis.

The laboratory, certified ISO 9001 since 2009, continues its commitment to the Quality approach, in order to meet the expectations and requirements of its partners and to sustain and improve the functioning of the laboratory. One of the objectives in 2024 is to coordinate the functioning of the quality committee with the newly formed laboratory council, particularly on the “management” and “research/expertise” processes. Furthermore, two objectives in 2024 concern the operational implementation of research data management (i) and the parsimonious management of environmental resources (ii). Actions carried out on the other four processes will be continued, particularly on improving working conditions. Controlling hygiene and safety and preserving everyone’s health will remain a priority.

The priority actions carried out in 2024 will be to sustain the operation of LIBio and to promote the dynamism of research.

This will include:

- perpetuate the job of administrative manager of LIBio in order to stabilize the person recruited, as well as the job of technician for 2025,

- promote the career development of permanent LIBio staff and initiate the policy of renewing the jobs of professors, one of whom will retire in 2024,

- provide the financial resources essential to the implementation and carrying out of the actions of the Quality committee,

- implement the LIBio research policy in particular in connection with the aforementioned Bioeconomy programs

- strengthen the laboratory's areas of expertise and support the emergence of breakthrough research,

- support new entrants in their research project and their professional trajectory.

At the start of the 24-28 Five-Year Contract, the policy implemented responds to the principles of governance which are the participation and representation of all members of the laboratory(i); adaptation of objectives to expectations, needs and resources (ii); transparency on decisions and financial management (iii); ethical behavior and respect for individual rights (iv). I am counting on the commitment of all teacher-researchers, BIATSS staff and non-permanent LIBio staff to ensure the success of the policy undertaken and to be part of the pursuit of quality management which Ms. Cécile Mangavel has accepted to continue coordination in this new 24-28 five-year contract.
